Panhandling to a New Higher Level

I was downtown Kabul with my driver looking for a new apartment and a lady in a Burka with a child came up to me motioning her child needed money for food. I gave her $5 -- big mistake. All of a sudden I was besieged by about 15 people all asking for money -- even a boy with a prosthetic leg. I ran to the car and the boy with the prosthetic leg stuck his leg in the door so I couldn't close it. My driver got the door shut and then we were off!!!! I'll never do that again.
