Thanksgiving

This year I spent Thanksgiving in Afghanistan. I worked my normal 12 hours and then went to dinner for our traditional Thanksgiving feast: Smoked Turkey, Roasted Turkey, Ham, Fried Shrimp, Shrimp Cocktail, Steam Ship Round, and all the fixings. I was stuffed.

Then I went home and changed and came back to Camp Eggers for a Multi-Denominational Thanksgiving Service. I had been asked to be the LDS Speaker. There was a Jewish, Catholic, and Baptist speaker in addition to myself -- as well as a "Praise Band"! Interesting to say the least.

The "NBC Today show" was here on Camp Eggers taking pictures. I understand from the District President he saw me on TV while I was at the Thanksgiving Service. I was hoping I wouldn't be video taped while I was speaking.

It turns out that this was a pretty good year to not travel for Thanksgiving. We've had snow 3 times in the past week and it sounds like Spokane has had a bunch as well! I missed not being with everyone for Thanksgiving though. Wish I could have seen the spot on Camp Eggars on the Today Show. I've been too busy to even turn on the tv lately! Glad you had a good Turkey Day. Take care!

We saw the runners at camp Eggers on the news here. Stopped it and moved it slow and looked for you, but didn't see you.
