Moving Day -- I've Moved!!!!

Well yesterday was moving day. We started at 7am with with my House manager getting a truck -- we got a big truck so it would take fewer trips (it took 2). We had acquired a lot of furniture in our current house. So we sold some of it. I have a single room I live in and they cut a hole in the wall into the bathroom next to me. So I have a private bath. The power level is low so my digital clock won't even show the numbers. Needless to say the electric heater didn't work either so I froze last night. It is a smaller room so things are a bit cramped. Luckily the rain stopped in the morning so we were able to get moved without it raining on the furniture. We are on a busy street so it is difficult to get in and out of the gate, and since the gate guard is inside the house the gate isn't opened in a timely manner. It has a tub in the bath room but no shower rod or curtain so when you finish your shower you have to squeegee the bathroom down. The other guys only have a hand held shower head and it sprays all over the bathroom. Definitely not western standards. There a lot of things that need fixed -- seal in toilet leaking so water on the floor and broken toilet seat etc. No towel racks etc. Needless to say it is a work in progress. We have been lucky to live in apartments where you trust the guards/housekeepers. I am not so sure about the one guard we have here. Yesterday he was walking around and picking things up in our apartments looking at them. So I think I will keep my door locked when I am not there. We have brought our housekeeper with us so he will continue to work just for us. He makes beds, does the laundry and vacuums the rooms. It is a godsend since we work 12 hour days, and down time is rare.
